The United States Federal Register — the official journal of the US federal government, in which all federal regulations, executive orders, and presidential proclamations are published — was found on 16 September to be using Qwen3, an artificial intelligence model developed by Alibaba Cloud, a Chinese company, to power its document search function. The Federal Bureau of Investigation had accused Alibaba of maliciously copying the technology of American AI company Anthropic eight days earlier. The two Qwen options were removed from the interface approximately forty-eight hours after the discovery was reported on social media. The Trump administration has described China's artificial intelligence industry as an existential threat to American technological supremacy. The Federal Register's search function is now powered by an unspecified alternative.

Teatre Raval in Barcelona was informed by Meta that its advertisements for a revival of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own had been blocked because the work contains references to "social issues, elections or politics," including feminism and civil rights. Meta recommended removing references to such topics. Virginia Woolf was born in 1882\. She died in 1941\. Meta has not read the book.

Donald Trump conducted zero stock trades while serving as president during his first term in office. In the first quarter of his second term alone, he conducted approximately 3,700 trades, averaging more than forty per trading day, with a total value estimated at between $220 million and $750 million. Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden each conducted zero trades while in office. The White House has described the president's financial activities as fully compliant with applicable law. The markets remain open.
